DEAFvibe Fundraising

2014 Christmas Signed Singing

Peter Forward 'the Marathon Man' is running the London Marathon for DEAFvibe in 2015!

'Peter Forward is 21 years old and the son of Julie Price our Electronic Notetaker from Staffordshire. Pete has recently started the University of Wolverhampton, studying at Degree level BSL/English Interpreting and with his background and love of sports, his ambition is to teach and encourage young children and teenagers to participate in football academies and camps.

As a keen sports person, with BTEC Distinction in Sports Studies and a Grand father who was a Sports Centre Manager for 30 years has enjoyed exploring various sports, Even at the age of 6, Peter climbed to the top of Snowdon beating many of the adult team. He still holds the record for the fastest 1,500 metres race at his school when he was 11 years old.

Pete has volunteered to take on this enormous challenge to raise vital important and essential funds for DEAFvibe whom he is proud to be involved with and be part of.

Peter says, "I am extremely happy to represent DEAFvibe for this enormous occasion. I understand the impact and support DEAFvibe volunteers, members and colleagues have to offer Deaf, hard of hearing and deafblind in the community and also each other. Much needed funding is required to build on this initially small charity but increasingly expanding due to the need for personal and technical advice, communication support provision, sharing skills and expertise as well as raising much needed awareness.

The challenge of running for 26.2 miles in London is daunting, but I intend to train hard and encourage as many people to sponsor myself on behalf of DEAFvibe.

Larger charities are very lucky in being offered funding and sponsorship but DEAFvibe will utilise every penny raised to provide long term support for individuals.

On behalf of DEAFvibe, please pledge what you can afford and follow my training as we nearer the big day.

Thank you so much!" Peter Forward
